extauth script has exitted abruptly with reason 'normal'

Внешний скрипт аутентификации должен постоянно работать и, следовательно, должен быть циклом. Это объясняется в документации ejabberd: https://www.ejabberd.im/files/doc/dev.html#htoc9

Я подозреваю, что ваш скрипт выходит из строя, а не зацикливается.
