    Можете ли вы предоставить SSCCE . Существует так много лишнего кода, который нужно просеять, но я бы предположил, что одно из username или message не заканчивается нулем.

Совсем не уверен, что вы на самом деле намерены сделать здесь:

memset(message, 0, sizeof(message));

но это, вероятно, не делает то, что вы намеревались. sizeof(message) имеет значение 4 или, более вероятно, 8 в современной системе. Таким образом, вы пишете 8 нулей для message. Во-первых, это может быть не 8 байтов.

Возможно, вы хотите:

memset(message, 0, strlen(message));

или:

message[0] = 0; 

(Который сделает строку "пустой", но не заполняет всю нуль).
