Невозможно установить пароль для «корневого» пользователя MySQL: при установке пароля для администратора MySQL произошла ошибка

Недавно я попытался установить mysql-сервер в контейнер задания BOSH Lite, который использует Ubuntu Trusty в качестве образа базовой ОС.

Я использовал следующий набор команд оболочки в моем скрипте управления заданиями.
