PyQt со встроенным Matplotlib - проблема фокуса

Я хочу создать графический интерфейс с пользовательскими вводами с левой стороны и графиками справа. Кнопка " Применить" должна обновлять графики, зависящие от входов. Прямо сейчас кнопка просто очищает TextLabel.

Я сделал базовый макет с Qt Desginer и попытался реализовать этот пример.

Без графиков, фокусируя различные QLineEdit с обработанной мышью, однако при фокусировке графиков работает только с вкладкой клавиатуры, но не нажатием больше.

Является ли класс MyMplCanvas захватом фокуса мыши или почему он не работает?

Проблема вызвана self.widget_1 и self.widget_2, которые находятся поверх макета, предотвращая распространение событий мыши.

Идея состоит в том, чтобы заменить self.widget_1 и self.widget_2 на холсты, как показано ниже:
